{Best of Beauty 2014} Makeup Favorites

I cannot believe we are almost a month in to the new year! This month has gone by so fast. Staying up late and studying into early morning will certainty warp your sense of time. I had a family dinner this evening and I couldn't even recall what day of the  week it was... oh whats that? It's Sunday - you mean the start of a new week - i.e. being thrown into another hell week!?

Makeup wise, 2014 was a great year I became reacquainted with a few beloved products and discovered some new favorites as well. Brow routine is pretty good unless I try Anastasia. Foundation and concealer is on point, no changing for me and I don't know why it took me so long to try them.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish I've used this in the past and I have no idea why I discontinued using it. Its a great finishing powder and helps to extend the life of my makeup. Next up, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua this requires the tiniest amount and I only need my fingers to apply and achieve a flawless base. This creates a fresh and natural complexion. Its light weight and dries to smooth finish. It last all day - which for the price it better. Why I didn't try this sooner ITS AMAZING. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer again, why I didn't try this sooner is beyond me. This is a great concealer. I love my MAC studio finish and my Bobbie Brown, but this takes it all for me. Long lasting, great coverage and good application.

As opposed to my light weight option, I use Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation on days when I'm not feeling my skin is looking its best I switch to this as a base for a flawless long lasting foundation. I have normal to dry skin and this doesn't exacerbate the dryness which is something to be concerned with a clay or mineral type of foundation. This offered great coverage and only a small amount it needed. I have purchased this at Sephora as well as on QVC to get the bundle offer with the Tarte buffing brush. However, I find myself using the real techniques expert face brush more often.

Milani makes some outstanding drugstore options using their Easy Brow Mechanical Pencil is a quick and easy way to fix my brows in the morning. I never leave the house without at least doing my brows. It always makes me feel more put together. A quick twist and a little blending has me finished in about a minute with this pencil! Continuing with Milani, their Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Liquid Eye Liner is my go-to eyeliner. Its easy to apply and smudge proof. Lastly, Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Shadow Palette has been such a great palette. I've been using this throughout the year since I got it last Christmas. I'm a fan of the original naked palette and of the basics, but I constantly find myself reaching for this in the morning while preparing for the day!

Whew. That was quite a bit longer than I had expected it to be.

How has 2015 been treating you so far? What were you makeup favorites of 2014 and what have you been using this year?

XOXO,
Carolyn
