{Quick Tip} Winter Hair Care

So my TV series obsession is The Vampire Diaries. I can't stand that it's not going to be back until January 5th!

My friend found this tutorial of Katherine's hairstyle from the show:

MoonbeamShimmerBlitz has some great great tips on how to care for your hair, including how to eliminate static hair from dry winter air - something I have been using for a while as well!

I generally carry the static guard (travel size) with me, but last season I ran out and was too lazy to bother to get another one. This year, however, the static has hit early so I bought a new one.

All you need to do is spray a bit of the product into your hands, rub it across the hair, and brush through. Don't apply to much or you will have greasy looking hair. Another trick is to carry a dryer sheet and rub it onto your hair as you feel static, but then you might smell like Snuggles all day..

What do you do in the winter to take care of your hair?

{Party} A Tea Party with Owls.

I am quite fond of the organe "mandrake" root baby on the left - mine is that ugly blue baby in the front

The other weekend my good friend had her baby shower. The theme was owl's and tea, I had the yummiest cup of coconut chai tea. I have to get me some!

The owl necklace was her present from the host, while her momma got a tea pot necklace.

Nail post coming soon.

Hope your weekend is going well!

{p10} Half way!

Firstly, I would like to apologize for my absence in posting. These past few weeks have been quite challenging both in school and at home. Thanksgiving break has just begun for me and I should have a bit of time to roll out a few new post!

Secondly, I am super excited because I have 76 followers. I cannot believe that. Thank you all so much! I means a lot to read all of your comments - it truly makes my day and I can feel the blogger love <3.

Thirdly, my post:

I have pushed my way through the project 10 pan, and it's all down hill from here! I am halfway and I have several other products on the way.

Ultra-Softening Body Butter - Victoria's Secret - Love Spell

Since taking these photos last week - I have completely exhausted the jar leaving absolutely no remains behind.

I don't think I will be purchasing another body butter from VS, they are a bit to thin and don't provide as nice of a softening effect as claimed.

The smell is also a bit different in the body butters from the sprays and regular lotions.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

{Hair Secret} Dry Shampoo

With colder weather setting in across the norther hemisphere, comes more heat and mistreatment to hair and skin. I know I've fallen prey this cycle a lot in the past, but as of now I have been trying to get my hair back to its original state. I'm growing out my natural color and going to watch the amount of torture my hair endures.

So I want to share my secret to great 2nd day hair:

Tapioca Starch {$0.79}

{I fell on this by chance actually as I have this in my kitchen to make yummy Bánh da lợn!}

I've know that baby powder has been used, but I hate the smell and the fact that sometimes contains talc. Corn starch has been used in several dry shampoos on market, but I didn't have any at the time when I tried this trick out. Instead I decided to try this starch since it was available to me. It worked great then and continues to now!

To use just aliquot into a shaker jar or something with a sieve, then just apply to needed area and massage into scalp.

This will help add volume, make your hair tamer and more presentable on 2nd day wear {ahaha}, doesn't have a funky/lingering smell, and is super cheap - 79 cents.

I got mine at the local farmers market in the Vietnamese area where they sell noodles, spring roll paper/wrappers, and similar items.

Alternatively when I haven't refilled my jar - I use the Got2Be dry shapmoo can, works simi-ok - I prefer the Tapioca Starch...

Do you use dry shampoo, which one?

October Favorites!

Good morning ladies, hope this week has found you well! I had trouble narrowing my list of favorites for last month, as there were so many things I enjoyed using and having.

Brushes:

Sigma SS187:

First off, generally I never use a brush to apply my bb cream, always with my fingers. I tried with this stippling brush - SS187- and I loved the effect. It's flawless and airbrushed effect is amazing. The only downside - this brush sheds like mad, I might consider picking up the real thing from MAC.

Make-up:

Maybelline Dream Matte powder:

Works amazingly to set my bb cream, doesn't make my skin look dry and doesn't look cakey and does not deposit too much color to wash out my complexion.

Rimmel Lipstick in Airy Fairy:

Beautiful color, similar to my natural lip color. I have noticed, I either like nude pales or deep dark colors and nothing in between.

Nars Blusher in Orgasm:

Apprehensive to purchase, purely because of the name! Great color and I don't know why I wash hung up on the name...

Benefit cheeky mini set:

Omg. So you get all three best selling benetint/highlighters. Can't go wrong. Each 0.33 oz which is a third of the original size, deluxe sample size. I had to online order, because it was sold out in the store. Highly recommend.

Urban Decay Naked Palette:

Again featuring because it is just amazing! Everything I need for the day, eyes, eyebrows, highlight and yes lips. :D I am so glad I purchased this eyeshadow palette it was well worth the purchase and has proven itself month after month. Oh and just to add I am delighted that this is a permanent palette at the house of Urban Decay.

Skin care:

L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base:

This is a great product to smooth out your skin, I have not noticed any breakouts from this as I have been using this for several weeks now - Since September. I will say I got a sample of the POREfessional from Benefit, liked it a lot and I am considering purchasing that after I finish off my jar.

Nail polish:

Essie - Sand Tropez:

Such a lovely color for year round wear, its like a blush-nude color that is perfect on my fair skin so I'm sure it will look absolutely lovely on anyone darker too. If you can get your hands on this - get it!

What product did you enjoy using last month?

Also - what is a good shoe to work out in? I currently have Puma XC (running shoes) and I would maybe like something a bit more for cardio workouts and all over cross fitness.
