{Birchbox} September 2012 Box

Hello!!

October starts tomorrow... I cannot believe that, this year has flown by as has this month, already a month of classes behind me. I received this box about mid month, but was trying to use as many things as possible from last month and this month to give a good review. I failed though... Enjoy!

I apologize for the poor picture quality, I've been getting home late so day light has all faded and when I am home during the day it's been overcast - which is my favorite weather, but not good for photos.

Contents:
kate spade new york Twirl - 3.4 fl oz
twistband Hair Tie
tili Bags Small Collection
WEI to Go Sleep Over Kit: Real Clean and Ideal Skin
21 drops Aromatherapy Blends
Birchbox and Color Club Custom Collection
Impression:
This month I was pretty pleased with my box! I was excited for the nail color, very fall. The WEI products are cool, I have yet to try - might do that tonight. I really like the twistband Hair Tie, I wish I had gotten a different color, I'm not too fond of pink. The 21 drops Aromatherapy smells wonderful, the scent is coined the name focus so I've been using it when I've had to study for an exam or quiz. Within this months box I also received a kate spade perfume sample and a tili bag. I'm not a huge perfume wearer, however, I shall try my hardest to use this one. Overall, I liked this box better than last months - initially.
August Box Product Review:
Out of last months box I used the Lip shine and Juice Beauty moisturizer the most. I think I might have to purchase the moisturizer, I love the smell and how it feels on my skin. Plus, it's all organic products which is a plus! I still need to try the razor... maybe tonight. HAHA!

What did you get in your box?

{Review} Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

Hello there!

I want to feature a short review over the Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes.

IMPRESSION
I wasn't really impressed with these Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes. I kind of purchases these on a whim. I happened to be in Ulta shopping after I was finished with my exam- some good'ole shopping therapy - and picked these up as I thought they might be good for an upcoming vacation. They are dry and tend not to remove much.
OVERVIEW
Basically these seemed to be really dry and had a strange after feel that they left on the skin. I didn't feel as though all of my makeup had been removed, and definitely had almost all of my eye makeup intact after a use. I didn't have any type of skin reaction to these, so that's a plus! I just didn't fancy how there was a lack of removing makeup/cleaning my skin.

I only have half of the package left, as I was gone for a 5 day trip, so I should be able to use these up quickly.

Unfortunately I will not be repurchasing.

RATING
3/5
I wish I had packed my Simple cleansing wipes (seen here) instead of these.

Until next time.

XOXO,

Rubiiee

{NOTD} - Festivities and Food!

Hello!!

Long time no see?! The last few weeks have been very busy for me. I started my internship as well as had my first exam and presentation, I should have studied/prepared more, but pulled out with a low A.

Not wanting to let go of summer, I was sporting this lovely color (again!!).
Essie Tart Deco

I also enjoyed some comfort foods while studying, grilled "cheese" and tomato soup!

After the week was over, I was able to enjoy some festivites! There was a festival celebrating Japanese culture and arts few cities over, so I invited my parents to accompany me! We checked it out and enjoyed some yummy food.

Bento Box, green tea, octopus balls!

Sushi roll topped with  crab meat and shrimp.

Eel roll and chicken skewer.

Also started sporting a new nail color - can you see it?!

My "relieved" face after enjoying a good meal and surviving an intense week of school.

I hope you have a lovely week! Take care I hope to catch up with you soon.

XOXO,

Rubiiee

{Review} Sigma SS187

Hello!

Featured today is a review over the Sigma SS187, now called the F50. This was previously featured in my October Favorites from last year... there I talked about some of the problems I am still experiencing.

As you can the fibers aren't neatly organized.
See the unevenness of this?

I have had this brush for several years, but only recently found  a use for it (recent in the amount of time of using). It's sad to report the quality of this brush is very low. After the first washing I remember some initial shedding, which I thought might be normal, but it has continued. Every time I use a foundation or power with this brush, I find myself having to pick off black and white hairs.

I use a mild shampoo/brush cleanser and tepid - cool water to wash, and flat dry or upside down. So I am not understanding why this brush is so damaged. It's frustrating, because after all the hype about Sigma, you think it would be good. In my experience not the case. Sadly I have to report that all of the other brushed I own from Sigma also had a significant amount of shedding. I haven't really found a use for this brush as of late... so it has definitely been demoted from my favorites.

Basically, this brush isn't long-lasting. Sigma brushes do a good job of applying and distributing product, but you will have to battle some fibers on your face.

Rating: 3/5

What company do you purchase your brushes from? What is your favorite brush/tool?  Have you any experience from Sigma?

I want to try the Real Techniques brushes, they are supposedly good!

XOXO,

Rubiiee
