Oh! La Mer...

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving (if you celebrate). Mine was filled with lost of yummy dishes, ham, mashed potatoes, casseroles, soufflé,  pies, cookies, and loads of other tasty treats.  Today my family will be making a Turkey, which is the traditional item to cook on Thanksgiving...

Ah, I digress! The reason for today's post is to inform you of a collection currently being sold at Target:

La Mer Collections

Last week Target released the La Mer Collections watches. This is a special edition item. If you follow me on instagram, you saw my picture I posted last Sunday of all the La Mer watches in stock at my local Target, carrying only one of each.

A few of the watches caught my eye. The La Mer Collections watches are priced at $39.99 while the Wanderlust editions are $49.99.  (Normal La Mer Collections range from $100 - $300.)

"I'm so crushed!" ._.;;

I love rose gold hardware and blue is my favorite color, making this no-brainer for me!

I also wanted to grab another style, one that would be better suited for everyday wear. As I find the chained watched to be more appropriate for going out.

What is the difference between the normal La Mer Collections and the Target special edition Lar Mer Collections watches?

La Mer Collection Regular:
Watch materials include; a genuine leather strap, 14k gold face or gunmetal plating
Special Edition:
Watch materials include; a faux leather strap, an alloy watch case, nickel free plated hardware and a stainless steel case back.
This is reasonable considering the information of the prices, but you are still buying a real La Mer Collections watch!

I find this to be a fantastic deal, if you are interested you should head your way over to Target!

I like your lips...

Hello, Happy Holidays!

I thought I had put myself on a spending ban, however my brain just didn't register the message when I went to the outlet mall the other day. Bad brain!

I think it's customary (*cough* manditoryto stop by the Cosmetic Company Outlet (CCO) when your at the outlet, in fact that was one of the four stores I went in to and the only one I purchases anything from.

I never seem to have any  luck with mac lip products at the CCO, this was one of the rare times I have, other than my Gaga find. This trip I purchases two items, a dazzleglass (my first) and a lipstick, in a color I've been wanting to snatch up. It's a color that I could have gotten at any time from the M.A.C store/counter, but haven't because of the price.

Meet the color, blankety

I find this color to be the perfect combination of mauvey tones. I often go for rose petal, pinks, corals and mauves  but this is by far my favorite of the lipsticks I own. With this being slightly darker than my natural lip color, I find it to be the perfect fall/winter shade.

Dazzleglass true to picture.

Dazzleglass: Utterly Posh | MAC: $19.50 | CCO: $13.75
Lipstick: Blankety | MAC: $15.00 | CCO: $10.50

{NOTD} - How is it November?!

This is my current NOTD (Week if it can last that long). This polish was obtained from a previous birchbox. When saw I had received this, I recall noticing how color beautiful the color was. The perfect color for the cold months ahead. I would describe this as a Russian blue, like the cat... or maybe a blue-gray... hehe.

The polish is from the brand color club, a company I'm not too familiar with as I've only heard the name and never used one of their products.

These pictures were taken a day after wear. There is some chipping present around the edged (both thumbs, and left ring finger), so I doubt this will last me all week. Most likely I will be removing the polish by Friday or Saturday yielding about 3-4 day of wear, not to great. I do really like the color, so it's a pity that the formula isn't so solid.

Do you have any polishes from color club? What was your experience?

{Skincare} Winter Skincare Routine

Hello lovely,

The weather has started turning a lot colder here, meaning: no more shorts or skirts sans leggings. This also means your skin is becoming drier and needs to be taken care of more.

I'd like to share some of the skincare items and regimen I am currently using. Some items might change or more might be incorporated, this is dependent on how the weather develops. Mostly the air has become drier and cooler, a trend that will only continue. Also, I like to keep my skincare simple to save me some time.

Top row: Eucerin Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion; Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream; Coconut Oil
Middle row: StriVectin EV Get Even Brightening Serum; Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Corrector (discontinued :[ ), and Dior Capture Totale; Anthony Logistics Glyoclic Facial Cleanser and Simple Moisturizing Face Wash
Bottom Row: Origins Drink UP Intensive Overnight Mask; Olay Professional ProX Facial Cleansing Brush*; Compilation Picture.

Morning Routine:
  • Wash with the Simple Moisturizing Face Wash
  • Use a serum (I really prefer the StiVectin EV, but I ran out!)
  • Moisturize with Cetaphil cream
  • Protect with Sunblock (Eucerin)
Evening Routine
  • Wash face with Anthony Logistics Glyoclic Facial Cleanse and the Olay brush*
  • Residual eye makeup is taken off with coconut oil** and a warm damp cloth
  • Serum
  • Moisturizer
  • Some nights I skip the serum and moisturizer and use Origins Drink UP Intensive Overnight Mask.
I never valued the importance of moisturizing. Sure I would put moisturizer before I put on makeup, but never at night. Since doing so I have noticed an improvement in the quality of my skin, it appears more plump and hydrated. Additionally since introducing serum, my dark spots have faded dramatically. Even before I started incorporating serum in I noticed a difference in my skin quality.
* I really like using my Pro X brush for my nightly routine. I had thought about a Clarisonic before, but I've been using this one for over a year I think it's done a great job. If you are interested in the difference between the Olay brush and the Clarisonic here are a few videos

**This is kitchen/cooking grade, however the package mentions coconut oil can be used on skin and hair. I prefer using oil to take off my eye makeup since it will loosen things up making the process less forceful. At organic shops/whole food retailers virgin oil is sold, more expensive, though I don't know if there are necessarily any benefits in buying those.

{Feature} Meet Lischen!

Hello lovely,

Today I am featuring a fellow blogger whom I have been following for quite sometime.

Lisa, or Lischen, has a lovely blog which I became fascinated with over a year ago. I first found her blog and was immediately drawn to her nail of the day posts/tutorials. Still to this day this day they draw me in...

My Questions to Lischen:
  1. Would you mind tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a 19 year old girl from Germany studying International Business, I recently started just a few weeks ago . My English isn't perfect, so originally I started my blog only in English to train in the language. For over a year now, I have developed a love everything about beauty, fashion and blogging. I also love dancing, cooking and being out there in the beautiful forests and landscapes around here.
  1. What is your blog about and why did you decided to start blogging?
When I started to blog I wanted to do a fashion-beauty blog, but after some time I just wanted to blog about something personal as well. Just something I did last week or so… so I’d say it’s not only about fashion and style, it’s also very much about me.

And why I did started? That’s quite a funny story:

I was once watching to a very cool vlog on youtube. It was a red-haired girl just talking about her life and other funny stuff. I didn't watch her videos for a while and when I searched for her channel again I couldn't find it anymore (if you think you know her channel, please tell me!!). Instead I found the channel of a really amazing girl that also has got a blog. I read though it and also read through other blogs and I really liked what the girls did. So I just decided to do this, too. :)
  1. What would you describe as the biggest influence over your fashion sense/style and how would you describe your style?
Aww… this question is hard to answer cause I’d just say: I don’t know… :D
I think my mom had a big influence on my style cause I wear many pieces out of her closet and I think she’s a very fashionable woman. I also think blogging influenced my style, which I really like!
  1. Lisa, you've featured several nail design posts as well as some craft projects, where does your inspiration come from for these types of projects?
Either from other blogs, YouTube channels or from my own creativity. :)
  1. What has been your most rewarding experience out of blogging?
Mhmm... I don’t think there is one special experience. It’s just the pleasure of meeting so many nice people from so many different countries, getting an insight into their lives and being able to talk to them and making friends with them. This whole blogging-community is something I would have never dreamed of to be a part of it and this is so cool!!

I hope you enjoyed her feature!
Personally really enjoy seeing Germany from her point of view!
If you are interested she also interview me, which is featured on her blog.
