Hold on to your Brooms!

Not the typical post that would be here, but it is totally worthy of it's own space.

It's here! I've been following the news on this park for several years now, and it is finally here. Yesterday during the live stream covering the media event happening in Universal Studios it was announced that the new expansion of Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Orlando would be opening on July 8th! Start getting your vacation panties ready, and I suppose your wallet too.

Here is the flash video that will pop up on the site when you go to Universal Studios: Animation
Also, a visit to this MuggleNet article will allow you to see some event photos and videos from the media preview currently happening.

What is to be offered in this new expansion? The list is quite extensive.
+ Weasley's Wizard Wheezes: A joke shop by the Weasley twins
+ The Leaky Cauldron: Typical British pub
+ Ollivander's Wand shop: Hogsmead has a smaller version, I heard this is to be larger
+ Scribbulus: WIZARD STATIONERY.
+ Madam Malkin's: Wizard's robes and character costumes
+ Quality Quidditch Supplies:  Sport shop
+ Magical Menagerie: Toy shop
+ Florean Fortescue's: Sweets and ice cream, including Butterbeer flavor!
>>> Gringotts Bank: "Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts" ride is housed within, more information about the ride can be found here. Also, I've heard talk to exchanging muggle money for wizard money, the purpose??
+ Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment: The gift shop after the Gringotts ride
+ Knockturn Alley including the dark magic shop Borgin and Burkes
What else can you expect to visit whilst in this new area?
"There will be two live shows held in the shopping area called Carkitt Market [...] The first show will bring to life two fables from "The Tales of Beedle the Bard," from the seventh film, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1." In the second show, guests will hear never-before-heard songs by The Singing Sorceress: Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees.
From what I've read about, this market and the shops and items found in here are all creations of J.K. Rowling, not just the creative heads at Universal Theme Parks. This is exciting because it means even more territory to explore in the new expansion and new items to be discovered.

You can also catch a ride on the Hogwarts Express from King's Cross Station if you have purchased the 2 park pass ticket. This train ride will take you from Diagon Alley in Universal Studios to Hogsmead in Islands of Adventure.

There is definitely enough to do in the two wizard themed parks alone that could take you the whole day to explore. I'll be planning my trip for mid July to early August. Will you have an opportunity to visit this new theme park soon? What are your thoughts on the new expansion?

XOXO,
Carolyn

Summer Tag

I saw this new tag on Makeup-Pixi3 beauty blog and thought it would be a fun activity to do while taking a break from organizing my hard-drive!

1.  What's your favourite thing about Summer?
Being able to do whatever I want and not worry about course work! Also, I enjoy the freedom to be able to take trips.
2.  Do you have a favourite Summer drink?
I've been enjoying iced soy chai lattes and iced soy green tea lattes.
3.  Is there a location you like to go to each Summer?
Recently it's been to Florida to the beach and to either Disney World or Universal Studios, but really like being able to travel in general.
4.  Favourite makeup look for Summer?
I cannot be bothered to put on makeup as of late, but I am in love with  big volumized lashes, a bronzed face and a bold lip.
5.  Dresses or skirts?
Either is nice, though I usually stick to shorts or jeans.
6.  Sandals or ballet pumps?
I like both, depends on the day, weather and what I am wearing!
7.  Do you prefer to wear your hair up or down for Summer?
I usually like my hair down, but if the weather is particularly hot or I'm at the pool: it's gotta go up!
8.  Deep smokey eyes or bold lips?
Eyes!
9.  Favourite perfume for Summer?
 DKNY - Be delicious
10.  Last but not least, favourite music for Summer?
House or dubstep. Loud, beats, fast = Summer.

Who to tag? Anyone is welcome! Let me know in the comments below and I'll link you in this post.

{NOTD} OPI - Barefoot in Barcelona

I attempted to find a more neutral pink mauve color, but it was a epic fail! I really do not like this polish that much at the moment. I feel like it makes my hands look so much older. Honestly, probably due to the fact one of my elementary school teachers, RIP, used to wear a color similar to this.

The color is gorgeous in the bottle, but I don't think it works against skin at all. Maybe my mom will like it (HAHA). At the moment I am loving bright colors, pastels and cleaner lighter colors. I'll be posting more of those in the future!

Have you tried this color by OPI? What your current favorite colors for the summer season?

XOXO,
Carolyn

Update: Ready to Launch!?

Summer break is officially here and I am ready to hit the road!! Get ready to hang on! I'll be taking a few trips, mostly to the southern areas of the US: Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida. So excited.

Last summer I was able to go to Disney World in Orlando, Florida with a group of friends. It was such an amazing time. However, for now I am patiently waiting for an official announcement for the opening of the new expansion at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I cannot wait to go to Diagon Alley, walk the streets, shop, and eat in the cafes. AH!

I cannot wait for Diagon Alley to open up, from all the rumors circulating and all of the dates leading up to certain events I think it will be opening up within the next two weeks, if not before!

In the meantime I have been taking advantage of this down time to try out a couple of new products. I am really loving the Tarte amazonian clay 12 hour foundation. It is quite amazing and I am impressed. Have you tried this foundation? What did you think of it?

XOXO,
Carolyn
